PTA Artist-in-Residency Events Oct 30th & Dec 4th

  • Last spring, under the direction of Ms. Thaler, Art Teacher, students at Bannockburn worked with a visiting artist, Ms. Katherine Dilworth,, funded by the PTA Artist-in-Residency program, to create needle-felted quilt squares that reflected on their experiences during the pandemic. Some of the finished pieces will be on display at the Baltimore Museum of Art this fall. There will be two Sundays during which the pieces can be viewed by the public.
    • Sunday October 30 1-5 pm the quilts will be on display as part of the museum’s community day and the opening of the Great Migration exhibit. There is a full afternoon of activities planned as well as free entry to the exhibit. You can learn more here.
    • Sunday December 4 the quilts will again be on display as part of community day activities. That afternoon will include a needle-felting workshop by Katherine Dilworth, the visiting artist who worked with students at our school to create the pieces. You can learn more about this date on the museum’s website in November.
