House of Ruth – Donation Collections

Since our students learned about a lot of strong women during Women’s History Month, we decided to do a service project for the House of Ruth, a DC-based nonprofit whose ultimate goal is to empower survivors of domestic violence to break the cycle of abuse and live independently, safely, and with dignity. The collection will run from April 3 through April 19 and items can be dropped off at the entrance to Bannockburn or purchased directly on this Amazon Wishlist. 

All in-kind donations must be new, unopened, and in original packaging. A complete list of needed items is on the House of Ruth site. Some items include: 

  • Bar Soap (Dove, Caress, Ivory)
  • Body Wash (Dove, Soft Soap, Caress)
  • Deodorant (Degree, Secret)
  • Full Sized Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Diapers (sizes 5 and 6)
  • Unscented Baby Wipes
  • Laundry Detergent (Liquid or Powder)
