Our PTA sponsors, organizes and produces an incredible number of events and activities throughout the school year. We are always eager for new volunteers! Click here to complete our Volunteer Form. For the 2026-27 School Year, critical roles we need to fill include:

  • Assistant Treasurer: Shadows the current treasurer this year to take over for 2027-29 school Years (2-yr term)

In addition to these lead roles, you can also volunteer to join a planning committee for any of these events, including:

How Do I Find out When the Next PTA Meeting is?

Generally speaking, all MCPS elementary schools hold their PTA meetings on the first Tuesday of the month.  All PTA meetings are held in person at the school (and occasionally will be virtual or hybrid) at 7 PM. Meeting reminders will be sent out via email. Bar-T provides free childcare for all school-aged children.

This year the BES PTA General Membership meetings will be on Sep. 15th, Nov. 10th, Feb 16th, April 6th, May 25th.

How Do I Volunteer to Help with a PTA Event?

The PTA welcomes all volunteers!  If you can’t commit to being an event lead or serving on a committee, no problem!  Volunteer opportunities for individual events will be communicated via PTA newsletters and emails throughout the year. PTA event leads will send out online sign ups to help secure volunteers, so make sure you are signed up to receive MTK newsletters and emails.
