BES Book Fair is Here!

The PTA Scholastic Book Fair starts tomorrow! The fair will be in a new location this year:  please join us in the BES Media Center and shop for books while supporting our school on:

  • Thursday, Nov. 7:  3:30p – 5:30p
  • Friday, Nov. 8:  9a – 5:30p
  • Monday, Nov. 11:  9a – 5:30p
  • Tuesday, Nov. 12:  9a – 8:30p (open during Literacy Night, 6:30p – 8p)

Your child will bring a wish list home on Thursday, Nov. 7 after the students have had a chance to preview the books during the day. 

Parents are welcome to shop after school on any of the sale days as well as during the Classroom Open House on the morning of Friday, Nov. 8. Kids can visit and shop the fair anytime during sale hours. 

Here’s what you need to know: 

  • The Book Fair will be open during Literacy Night on Tuesday, Nov. 12. Kids can participate in reading activities with teachers and you can visit the fair as a family.  Literacy Night is 6:30p – 8p, with the book fair being open beforehand and until 8:30p.
  • Contribute new books to your child’s classroom library:  BES teachers and resource staff place books that they would like to add to their classroom libraries in Wish Boxes at the fair; families can then purchase a book or books for their child’s classroom library if they would like to do so.
  • eWallet:  Enable your child to purchase books on their own at the fair without carrying cash by setting up a Scholastic eWallet. Create an eWallet here or through the BES Book Fair webpage  *Please note that a new eWallet needs to be set up for your child for each fair; any unused funds from your child’s previous eWallet can be transferred to the new eWallet by clicking on “Fund with an eGift Card Balance” on the set-up page.
  • The Book Fair needs YOU:  sign up to volunteer an hour or two of your time at https://bit.ly/406zJWr  Pyle and Whitman students can earn SSL hours (please use slots designated as “SSL Volunteer”). The work includes setting up the fair on the afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 6, assisting students with making book selections, operating the cash registers, and breaking down the fair on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
