International Fair THIS Saturday, Oct 4, 4-6pm
We are excited to see everyone THIS Saturday, October 4, from 4–6 pm on the BES blacktop to celebrate the diversity and heritage of our school community at this beloved tradition! Families can sign up to host tables that showcase their culture with a trifold board, food, music, clothing, or other traditions. It’s a wonderful way to make new friends and help build our international community. We hope to see ALL families at the event, regardless of whether you are hosting a table! Students will get a pretend passport when they arrive and will collect stamps as they go around to visit tables and learn about the countries.
TABLE SIGNUP: Sign up HERE to host a table! Questions? Please email us at bannockburnelementarypta@gmail.com.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT INTERNATIONAL FAIR
EVENT SCHEDULE
- 3:00–3:15 PM – Participant arrival and set-up
- 4:00 PM – Event begins
- 5:00 PM – Kids Parade (see details below)
- 6:00 PM – Event ends
COUNTRY TABLE & DISPLAY
- Displays can be simple—fun facts, maps, flags, or photos are more than enough. Feel free to add food, crafts, artwork, or games.
- If you will need two tables (each one is 60×30 in), please let us know in advance.
- Music will be played over speakers, but you’re welcome to bring a battery-operated Bluetooth speaker for country-specific music. Unfortunately, outlets will not be available for use.
- For inspiration, see the pictures of country tables from previous years included below.
- You do NOT need to stay in place at your table for the duration of the event. Stay for as long as you can & enjoy walking around and experiencing the other diverse cultures that make up our wonderful little community!
- If you need a TRIFOLD BOARD for your display, we will be handing them out again at dismissal THIS Friday, October 3 (3:35-4:05PM) out front of school by the parking lot.
FOOD
- Bringing food is a wonderful way to share your culture, but it’s completely optional.
- Small, bite-size portions work best so guests can easily sample different dishes.
- A shared table with plates, napkins, and cutlery will be set up for everyone to use.
- Don’t feel pressure to prepare large quantities—any amount is appreciated and adds to the celebration!
At 5:00 PM, children are invited to join a fun, informal children’s parade—no rehearsals needed! Everyone is welcome to participate.
- Children will line up in the gym by country, in alphabetical order.
- The first person in line for each country will receive a piece of paper with their country name, so the DJ/MC can announce them as they come out of the gym.
- Traditional dress, jerseys, or other cultural clothing is welcome, but not required.
