Book Fair: eWallet, Volunteer, Online Store, and More Info!

The Book Fair is now open!!! Your child visited to preview the books that are available and make a wish list. The Fair is officially open for sales at 3:30pm (Tuesday, November 4). The hours are listed below – we hope to see many of you! ***Please note that we will close for lunch on Wednesday and Thursday. 

Tuesday, November 4, 3:30PM-5:30PM

Wednesday, November 5, 9AM-5:30PM (***closed from 12:30PM-1:30PM)

Thursday, November 6, 9AM-8:30PM (***closed from 12:30PM-1:30PM & OPEN during Literacy Night)

For confidential assistance to purchase a book for your child, please contact Ms. Fleming (Jennifer_L_Fleming@mcpsmd.org).

Parents are welcome to shop after school on any of the sale days. Kids can visit and shop the fair anytime during sale hours.


Here’s what you need to know:

  • WE NEED VOLUNTEERS: There are still A TON of open spots on the signup list tomorrow and Thursday. The Book Fair needs YOU!!!!! Sign up to  VOLUNTEER HERE. Pyle and Whitman students can earn SSL hours (please use slots designated as “SSL Volunteer”).
  • The Book Fair will be open during Literacy Night on Thursday, November 6. Kids can participate in reading activities with teachers and you can visit the fair as a family. Literacy Night is 6:15pm – 7:45pm, with the book fair being open beforehand and until 8:30pm.
  • Contribute to your child’s classroom library: BES teachers and resource staff place books that they would like to add to their classroom libraries in Wish Boxes at the fair; families can then purchase a book or books for their child’s classroom library if they would like to do so.
  • eWallet: Allow your child to purchase books on their own at the fair without carrying cash by setting up an eWallet. Create an eWallet HERE. Any unused funds can be spent in the online Scholastic store or at next year’s fair.  

***Note that you will need to set up a new eWallet each year but you can transfer any remaining funds from previous years by clicking “Fund with an eGift Card balance” on the set up page.
