Recap of December PTA-Sponsored In-School Assembly

Award-winning actress and Smithsonian Scholar Mary Ann Jung plays Margaret Brent and the Indians!

Last month, students traveled back in time to the year 1638 when Maryland was just barely a colony! Life was very tough in those times with only elite men in charge. They learned that Margaret Brent was a unicorn of sorts as she was the first woman to own land in America, its first female lawyer, and the first woman in America to demand the right to vote!

Thank goodness we live in present times when all children receive an education and women can vote and own property just as men can.

See below for a quick survey to get your students’ thoughts on the assembly!
