MLK Day of Service Project a Huge Success!
Today we had the pleasure of working with the fabulous BES students for the PTA’s annual MLK Day of Service Project. Students supplemented their learning about MLK Jr. through a hands-on community service activity during school to support our neighbors, where they heard from Wes, a speaker with lived experience of homelessness and worked as teams to build 1,000(!!) cold weather kits for Miriam’s Kitchen.
THANK YOU to all who donated winter hats and socks, funds, and their time to volunteer to make this day happen! It was a true team effort.
This is the 3rd year in a row that our AMAZING VPs of Community Service, Jill Brafford and Lara Pukatch, have put on this wonderful event. SO much hard work and planning go into these types of events and we are so lucky to have them and ALL of our PTA Board Members and Event Leads, who dedicate their time, heart, and soul to helping enhance our students’ educational experiences and better our community.
